ANTONIO--The main character, Antonio is a serious boy that searches for understanding. His mother wants him to become a priest while his father wants him to be a marez like him. He asks many questions, and finds answers in his dreams, life, and Ultima. Although he receives all his answers, he doesn't always understand them fully. At the end of the book, we see Antonio starting to come up with the answer to what he will do with his life, but we don't see what the final answer is.
